On October 18, 2003, the Associação de Capoeira Ventre Livre was born in Praia Grande, founded by José Roberto Bispo dos Santos (M Betinho) to help Flavia Torres (Professor Flávia Pitbull) and Anatilde Gome.
Having its project extended in the United States in Colorado Spring, its objective has always been to develop work together with schools, academies and needy communities.
Aiming to provide young people and children with a taste for sport and a perspective of following the path of good; through social interaction with established goals and objectives, increasing the quality of life.
Currently the group is represented in America by Jose Roberto B. Dos Santos (M. Betinho), and in Brazil by Flavia Torres (Professor Flavia Pitbull) and by the graduates Marquinho, Larissa and Biba.
In our Cultural Center located in Vila Balnearia, where it all started in 1998, with the work with capoeira where it was extended to the E.M. Anahy Navarro Trovao where we work with special children and young people, where our project has been developed for 17 years in partnership with the Municipality of Praia Grande. It is a great exchange of experience between children, young people and graduates of the group who interact and develop to strengthen an excellent work within the “CAPOEIRA” project.
In these 17 years of existence, more than 5,000 students have passed through the group and today Ventre Livre operates in 3 neighborhoods of the city of Praia Grande. Under the coordination of Professor Flavia Pitbull, in Brazil and supervision of Mestre Betinho (USA), its graduate students Marcos, Lari and Biba, continue their work in academies and private schools.
We try to carry out our work, always with a lot of research and within the methodologies of Capoeira.
We understand that Capoeira cannot escape its roots, so as not to lose its essence. Practice this art always remembering its history.
Art, Fight or Dance, no matter what your definition is. Promoting and raising the name of Capoeira has always been and will always be our main objective.
“Twenty-two years working with capoeiragem, teaching and learning to teach to be a good educator”.
