My name is Flávia Torres Nascimento, I was born in Cubatão and I have lived in Baixada Santista, in the city of Praia Grande, since I was just born. I am 30 years old, I am studying the 3rd semester of Pedagogy.

I have been doing Capoeira since I was 8 years old, always accompanied by my mother Anatildes Gomes Torres do Nascimento.

I started in capoeira in 1998 at the Sociedade Amigos do Jardim Real, where Pique Real is located today.

I started it with Joselito Jorge dos Santos, better known as Mestre José Lito, and that same year, Mestre Zé Lito, stopped from the class where I started to train at Balneária, with José RB dos Santos, known as Mestre Betinho, where he is now find teaching in the United States (USA), and I took over the job he had here with capoeira this year in 2008, when he went to college and left me in his place. Where I am until today and when he finished college, he continued his capoeira classes in Caicara and I in Balneária, and soon after he went to live in the United States, leaving me in charge of the group here in Brazil, and he in the United States at Colorado city.

In my journey with Capoeira I participated in many championships bringing home trophies and medals, all conquered with a lot of training, dedication and love for Capoeira.

Currently I play the project Associação de Capoeira Ventre Livre, supervised by Mestre Betinho who lives and monitors the project in the USA. I take Capoeira Ventre Livre to socialize with the community, teaching CRAS students in Jardim Esmeralda, and continuing along with our graduate Lari, in the work that Mestre started in 2004 with EM Anahy Navarro ja Trovao, where we are doing this work for 16 years together with the school, at this moment I count on the help of my students who are always with me in the eagerness to learn and evolve day by day. I am well known throughout Baixada as Flávia Pit Bull, a nickname I got when I was a child, from Mestre Betinho, due to my determination when I participated in wheels and championships.

With Capoeira Ventre free, I experienced moments of a lot of learning, and unique experiences I was competing in Regional Games, Open Games, many high-level competitive events, participating helped me a lot in my evolution, a fact that started me to play the project and transmit what I know to those who really want to learn about our 2019 event, that we were honored to welcome two countries (USA and Poland) here in our city, which suffer with our Master.

This year we were going to participate in our Master’s event in the United States, but due to the pandemic they were canceled for next year and we will be representing our city and our country, administering a workshop for Americans.
